Our client, a well-established manufacturing company in Quebec for several decades, is recognized for its expertise and innovative approach to the design, manufacture and distribution of custom metal solutions. The organization serves a wide range of customers and stands out for its adaptability, commitment to operational excellence and culture of quality and customer satisfaction.
In the midst of organic growth and considering strategic acquisitions to expand its geographic footprint and propel its development, we are looking for a Human Resources Business Partner able to primarily serve the 2 plants located in Anjou (250 employees total), support colleagues on the South Shore and eventually help integrate and serve other potential sites.
Job specification
Reporting to the Director - Talent and Culture, the Human Resources Business Partner acts as a pillar in the day-to-day management of human resources. A true collaborator and advisor, he or she will actively contribute to bringing the organization's values to life and supporting managers committed to sustainable, human performance. Essentially, the HRAP will act as an advisor to managers in all HR areas: labor relations, talent management and acquisition, training, organizational development, health and wellness, performance, mobilization.
More specifically, he/she will :
- Act as an ambassador of the company's values, culture and ethics;
- Act as the main point of contact for team members' HR issues;
- Advise field managers on HR policies, programs and best practices;
- Partner with various internal constituencies to develop and implement HR management and labor relations solutions that support the direction of the company's strategic objectives;
- Provide consulting, coaching and intervention services in various contexts (work reintegration, disciplinary and non-disciplinary files, change management, health & safety, etc.) in collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders, using a multidisciplinary approach;
- Investigate employee complaints and make recommendations for dispute resolution;
- Foster positive relationships to collaborate on performance management, disciplinary actions and address legal issues related to employment rights, employment contracts, terminations and more;
- Support the recruiting team in the acquisition and integration process;
- Ensure compliance with labor standards;
- Collaborate in the development of new human resources programs, as well as in the review and improvement of existing programs;
- Participate in the development of tools and in various projects designed to improve human resources management practices (corporate projects);
- Provide regular reports and analyses to management on key human resources performance indicators, such as staff turnover rates, absenteeism rates, etc,
- Ensure follow-up of training related to workforce skills development for the 1% law;
- Carry out various organizational and statistical analyses for internal and external needs (benchmark, pay equity process, etc.);
- Act as the employer's representative on various committees dealing with labor relations or any other issue relevant to his sector of activity;
- Participate in HR strategic planning and in the follow-up of the action plan pertaining to his/her field of activity.
Required profile
The incumbent ideally has a bachelor's degree in human resources and 7 to 10 years' relevant experience in a similar role. The incumbent must demonstrate professionalism, discretion, autonomy, leadership and judgment. Excellent analytical, communication and priority management skills are essential, as are a strategic mindset and a collaborative, results-oriented business sense. Mastery of MS Office software, bilingualism (French and English) and the ability to work in a multi-site environment are also required. Availability to work on site (Anjou) three days a week and to travel occasionally to the South Shore is required.
